final results.

Lyndsay was situated in the cornucopia, preparing to battle the next person she laid eyes upon. For some stupid reason, she still hadn’t won yet. The only other girl alive was Aly, and she was shuffling towards Lyndsay, unaware of what would come out of the situation.

Once the girl from district four was close enough, Lyndsay jumped out of her viewing station. “Well, between the two of us, I always knew I was the better one,” she said. Aly glared at her, judging whether it would be best to kill her now, or have a little break. Since she was slightly out of breath from having to run to the centre of the arena, she picked the conversation.

“Look, it’s just us now. You don’t have to flatter yourself any longer, it won’t get you very far.” Aly shot back. She felt no fear for this girl before her, and she wasn’t about to let anything get to her. Not in her last moment. “If you’re going to do anything, just get it over with. No need to make it a big deal,” she dared.

Feeling challenged, Lyndsay tilted her head and took a step forward. With a tone of anger in her voice, Lyndsay said “are you really going to bitch at me? When I’ve lost nearly everything? Have you not learned your lesson yet?” With those words, she picked up her button, and slammed on it again. The only thing that happened was the girls moving slightly closer to the trap Lyndsay had laid out before. It must’ve been a fluke, but provided benefits, none the less. Lyndsay had set up the wiring so it would reset itself every time the trap went off - a trick she learned from her grandfather.

The girl took a lunge forward, and tried to shove Aly off balance. She nearly succeeded, and would’ve, if Aly didn’t have quick reflexes. The girl from district four saw the attack, and burst away, just three feet out of range. Lyndsay got frustrated, and shouted at her “GET BACK OVER HERE NOW, AND DON’T START RUNNING AWAY WHEN THINGS GET SERIOUS. THAT’S NOT HOW IT GOES!” She may as well have been shouting at thin air - Aly was out of sight.

What Lyndsay didn’t know was that Aly was already behind her, trying to use a backfire of sorts. “I’m back,” Aly teased. Lyndsay whipped around, trying to find the maniac who got away.

“Just, come out here,” Lyndsay reasoned, “you’re not going to go down as a noble victor if you play around and hide this whole time. Being a psychotic bitch doesn’t make people like you, you know.” The words replayed in Aly’s head, psychotic, psychotic, psychotic. It was as if there was something wrong with her - as if Lyndsay was implying that being freed of human attachments was a bad thing.

Taking offence to the statement, Aly scoffed. Just loud enough for Lyndsay to hear. Lyndsay then tiptoed back to where she thought she heard the noise coming from, and stepped on the wire she laid out.

Fear and anger lined Lyndsay’s face as she saw her trap coming down upon her. This isn’t fair, she thought. It should be the other way aro- her thoughts were then interrupted by her body getting chopped in half, and slightly electrocuted.

“Congratulations, ladies and gentlemen. Or should I say lady,” head gamemaker vincent’s voice echoed through the arena, “let’s congratulate our winner of the thirteenth annual hunger games, ALY!”

the results.

ASH AND ASHLEY.

A broken leg, being partially deaf, and trapped in an arena of five kids trying to kill each other didn’t add up to the best situation for Ash. She could only hear a faint muttering of Head gamemaker vincent’s voice calling her to the cornucopia, and she could barely understand what he said. By the time the girl got out of her hiding spot to know more, she saw danger surrounding her - a fire on her left, and mutts on her right.

As she fumbled off towards what she thought would be the river, Ash tripped over another tribute on the same mission. Ashley. They both exchanged a glance, and tried to run away from the enemy.

Due to Ash being on the ground, she was stuck. “Hey, HELP ME! PLEASE, I’m not here to hurt you, please,” she shouted at Ashley. Doubting whether or not to go back and help the girl, Ashley stood on the spot. At the last moment, she jolted off towards the cornucopia, deciding that if she were going to have a chance at winning, sticking behind for some girl from the lumber industry wasn’t the way to go.

Ashley ran off, leaving Ash behind. The fire was building up, and Ash had her faulty limb frozen under a log. Trying as hard as she could, she heaved herself forward, but with no luck. “just, please. Help me,” she cried to nobody. The flames were enclosing in, and with no way out, she shot a nasty glance in the direction of where the other girls must be, resenting her fate.

When Ashley got to the centre of the arena, she thought she would be safe. Nobody else was there, and what difference would it make if people had visited before? She took a tentative step forward, setting off the wire that Lyndsay set up previously. The area around Ashley was shaking, and just as the girl looked up, a large metal blade came swinging down, and decapitated her.

ALY

Trapped like no other time before, Aly was desperate to get out of her own backfire. For seventeen hours, she had been stuck in a piercing, thick roped hammock, resulting in severe burns on her skin. Her flesh was ready to rip apart any second now; red and raw to no end. Every move was like a dagger piercing through her, and staying in the same spot would mean certain death— fire was building up all around her.

She could hear the crackling sounds of the flames just a few metres away. The fire burning around her was more of a deep red than the traditional orange, purely a manufactured, controlled heat source. Daniela’s screams were filling in and around Aly’s head. Taunting, teasing, and tormenting her, Aly lost control of everything. Her skin situation seemed next to nothing compared to the splitting headache that was resulting from the overwhelming guilt rushing into her.

Fire was enclosing on her just as she had sent it to do a few days before. The bonds of the hammock weren’t going to break soon enough for the girl to escape. They were still at least two centimetres wide, and the heat was starting to rush into the area. Degrees increasing, Aly was running out of time. Strings of the ropes were breaking off, one by one, and Aly was going to go unconscious within the minute.

The throwing knives in Aly’s pocket were useless for the time being. She couldn’t find a way to get to them when she was this tightly wrapped in a net. If only… That was it. If only I could swing my way out of here, she thought. As she couldn’t move any body parts too much, this was her best bet.

She built momentum within seconds. For the beginning, there wasn’t a large amount of swinging going on. But it broke tension. The strings that held the hammock up were getting weaker with the added pressure. If she could manage to swing herself free, then she’d have a chance at surviving just a little bit longer. Her abdomen was starting to ache, but she pushed the pain away, and swung herself forward with all her might, tearing off the trap.

It was a matter of luck that she was close enough to the river to submerge herself in it quickly. Her skin was screaming in protest with every move she made, but there was nothing more important than getting hydrated. Fire can’t hurt something soaked in water, and Aly knew this. But, to her disadvantage, there were deadly creatures swimming beside her.

How the gamemakers knew that this would be a successful muttation, Aly had no clue. It was by mere chance that she had run into this stingray. It was waiting for her, just straight ahead. Piercing eyes were set into the ray, and it was ready to strike.

Aly couldn’t think of anything but getting out and stopping the pain. Her bite wounds shouldn’t have been flowing this much, and her skin was tingling with anger as she thrust herself forward. Swimming upstream, she travelled for over forty minutes before she got to somewhere that she could consider safe. But, only Aly herself thought that she was safe from danger. The gamemakers were chuckling, because they knew exactly what was waiting for her - a shocking sting, sure to make the victim suffer for several hours before letting them die.

The girl decided to plunge underwater one more time before pulling herself up to shore. While submerged, she saw an outlined grey spot in the water. Curious as to what it was, she pulled herself to it. Once close enough to see that this grey blob was, in fact, a remake of the boy who had sucked the venom out of her, Aly was in danger. She couldn’t shoot up fast enough to get away from this creature, and it looked ready to kill her.

Remembering something her mother once told her, Aly reached for the top of the beast. They won’t hurt you if you touch the surface. It can only cause harm if you get on the wrong side of it. She was running out of breath, but had at least twenty seconds left. Aly manoeuvred herself to be above the stingray. Close enough to it to still hurt it, but not enough so that it could see her.

There were only fifteen seconds left of oxygen. Alyssa’s head started to throb, but she ripped out a knife from her belt, ignoring her sufferings once more. Twelve seconds. She thrust her right arm downwards, and managed to pierce the ray between its eyes. Seven seconds. The electricity running through the ray was sent back up the knife, and into Aly’s veins. It pulsed through her body; not enough to kill her. Only a last attempt at ending her from this monster. Four seconds. Kicking her legs out underneath her, Aly shot upward with one second left. She gasped for new air, unaware of what the stingray had done to her.

What was left of Aly’s sanity had now completely vanished after the last event. The shock had drove her brainwaves short, and now Aly was incapable of human emotions. She couldn’t see in a straight line, and everything seemed to be heavier, but onwards she went, trying to make it to the cornucopia.

Still protected from the layer of hydration surrounding her, Aly ran. She flew forward as if it was the last thing she would ever do. She could feel her skin falling off of her as she ran through fire, but shut it out. Her breath was running low just as she reached the end of the forest. The cornucopia was presented in such a glorious way that Aly could hardly believe. It was gleaming in a new light that had never been shown before, and she wandered toward it, completely oblivious to her surroundings. She could see the back of Ashley’s head falling to the ground in a satisfyingly horrific way. Without pausing to investigate, the girl grazed forward.

Her ambition was set on one thing and one thing only: getting out of the arena. Girls all around her were screaming, throwing punches, force feeding poison, and passing away while she stood, isolated in her insanity.

LYNDSAY AND ERIN

Everyone was looking at each other see who would be the first to attack. Erin Bow ready at hand. She wasn’t going to give up this far in the games. With this mind set maybe she would become the victor of the Hunger Games. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” Lyndsay scream woke up Erin out of her day dream. Lyndsay ran to Erin mace at hand. Quickly Erin had her arrow set for Lyndsay’s heart it flew straight towards her but Lyndsay deflect it with her mace. Lyndsay smiling saying “MISS” she laughed but with out her noticing Erin had another arrow set. It was set towards her leg. Erin let go of the arrow and it hit Lyndsay’s leg “Dam! Oh you will pay for that” Lyndsay said with a pain in her voice. With that Lyndsay and Erin were both rolling on the ground. With Lyndsay’s in pain she thought it was the end of her. But then she felt something in her pocket then she remember she had the silver box. I might as well try it before I died she thought to herself. With that she quickly open the box and click the bright red button. Before she closed her eyes welcoming death as an old friend she notice  Erin had an arrow at hand ready to impale it straight to her heart then with a blink of an eye she saw a blur of brown and Erin was off of her chest. Lyndsay quickly return to her feet to see what had happen. But before she got up “BOOM” The cannon went off. She looked to her left and notice the rest of Erin’s body on the ground. Sitting next to Erin’s body was a mutt! But not only a mutt this mutt looked RACHEL! Lyndsay felt a tear come to her eyes. She was happy that Rachel mutt came to save her. She looked at the silver box. THEN THE SCREEN WENT BLACK
